Musicale was founded in June 1987 and is one of the busiest singing groups on
the Isle of Man.
The choir has sung off the Island and looks back on such highlights as
appearing with Rick Wakeman at the Gaiety Theatre for the first Island
presentation of his “The Gospels,” singing for the Arthur Sullivan
Society’s conference in the Isle of Man, singing for a baptism at the Nunnery
with Chris de Burgh as soloist.
Musicale has twice performed Stainer’s The Crucifixion and have also
twice performed the modern Australian Christmas cantata God Wrote the Song.
Faure’s Requiem and the modern Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo
are also in the choir’s repertory.
Most of the group’s concerts are given for charities as can be seen from
our “Previous Concerts” page. However, the group also sing at weddings, and
further details can be found on the “Wedding” link.
Many of the members are soloists in their own right and individual members
hold a very impressive record competing in the Manx Music Festival (The Guild).
Musicale also has been a consistent winner in the festival.
