Will your Wedding Music be worth remembering?

You've picked the hymns, your favorites, but are you sure that your guests will sing them?  Your plans will ensure that dresses, flowers and food are all first class but what about the music?  Will the church ring with good singing?

It can, if the congregation is led by the rich voices of an experienced choir.

Musicale has many Manx Music Festival successes to its name (Click here to link to our results page) We have already enhanced the marriage service for many couples, including several of our own choir members, and could add to the success of your important day.

That awkward time, for instance, when the Register is being signed and the congregation sits in uncomfortable silence, can, instead, be a highlight providing a glorious memory as the church echoes to some of the World's best loved anthems sung with reverence and beauty by Musicale - one of the Island's leading choirs.

Perhaps there is some special music which you've always wanted at your wedding or perhaps you would like advice on the choice of music.

Musicale can help you strike the right note.

Why not contact us at musicale@advsys.co.im for a no obligation discussion.  Inclusive prices start at £200 and will make all the difference to your day.

WEDDING REPERTOIRE

Welcome to Musicale’s portfolio of wedding songs.

We hope you will enjoy listening to the short excerpts of the music listed.

Included in our portfolio are the words to each song

for you to peruse at your leisure.

Musicale was founded in June 1987 and is one of the busiest

singing groups on the Isle of Man.

Many of our members are soloists in their own right;

individual members hold a very impressive record for competing in

The Manx Music Festival (The Guild).

Musicale is also a consistent winner in the Festival.

1.

Irish Blessing

May the road rise to meet you,

may the wind be ever at your back,

may the sun shine warm upon your face

and the rain fall soft upon your fields

and until we meet again,

may God hold you

ever in the palm of his hand

2.

Gaelic Blessing

Deep peace of the running wave to you

deep peace of the flowing air to you

deep peace of the quiet earth to you

deep peace of the shining stars to you

deep peace of the gentle night to you

moon and stars pour their healing light on you

deep peace of Christ,

of Christ the light of the world to you

deep peace of Christ to you.

Close To You

Why do birds suddenly appear, every time you are near,

just like me, they long to be, close to you.

Why do stars fall down from the sky, every time you walk by,

just like me, they long to be, close to you.

On the day that you were born the angels got together

and decided to create a dream come true,

so they sprinkled moon dust in your hair of gold

and starlight in your eyes of blue.

That is why all the boys in town follow you all around,

just like me, they long to be, close to you.

One Hand, One Heart ( West Side Story)

Make of our hands one hand, make of our hearts one heart,

make of our vows, one last vow, only death will part us.

Make of our lives, one life, day after day, one life,

now it begins, now it starts, one hand, one heart,

even death won’t part us now.

For the Beauty of the Earth

For the beauty of the earth; for the beauty of the skies
for the love which from our birth over and around us lies
Lord of all to thee we raise, this our joyful hymn of praise.

For the beauty of each hour of the day and of the night
hill and vale and tree and flower; sun and moon and stars of light
Lord of all to thee we raise, this our joyful hymn of praise.

For the joy of human love; brother, sister, parent, child
Friends on earth and friends above; for all gentle thoughts and mild
Lord of all to thee we raise, This our joyful hymn of praise

All Things Bright and Beautiful

All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small,

all things wise and wonderful: the Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens, each little bird that sings,

He made their glowing colours,  He made their tiny wings.

The purple-headed mountains,  the river running by,

the sunset and the morning that brightens up the sky.

The cold wind in the winter,  the pleasant summer sun,

the ripe fruits in the garden:  He made them every one.

He gave us eyes to see them and lips that we might tell,

how great is God Almighty, who has made all things well.

Ellan Vannin

When the summer day is over and it’s busy cares have flown,

I sit beneath the starlight with a weary heart alone.

Then rises like a vision, sparkling bright in nature’s glee,

my own dear Ellan Vannin with it’s green hills by the sea.

Then I hear the wavelets murmur as they kiss the fairy shore,

then beneath the emerald waters sings the mermaid as of yore

and the fair isle shines with beauty, as in youth it dawned on me.

My own dear Ellan Vannin with it’s green hills by the sea.

Then memories sweet and tender come like music’s plaintive flow,

of the hearts in Ellan Vannin that loved me long ago

and I give, with tears and blessings, my fondest thoughts to thee,

my own dear Ellan Vannin with it’s green hills by the sea.

We’ve Only Just Begun

We've only just begun to live,

white lace and promises

a kiss for luck and we're on our way

we’ve only begun.

Before the rising sun we fly,

so many roads to choose,

we start out walking and learn to run

and yes, we've just begun.

Sharing horizons that are new to us,

watching the signs along the way,

talking it over just the two of us,

working together day to day, together.

And when the evening comes, we smile,

so much of life ahead,

we'll find a place where there's room to grow,

and yes, we've just begun.

Morning Has Broken

Morning has broken, like the first morning

Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird

Praise for the singing, praise for the morning

Praise for them springing fresh from the world.

Sweet the rains new fall, sunlit from heaven

Like the first dewfall, on the first grass

Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden

Sprung in completeness where his feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning

Born of the one light, eden saw play

Praise with elation, praise every morning

God’s recreation of the new day.

The Lord Bless You and Keep You

The Lord bless you and keep you,

the Lord make his face to shine upon you,

to shine upon you and be gracious, and be gracious unto you.

The Lord lift up the light of his countenance upon you

and give you peace.  Amen.

Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring

Jesu, joy of man's desiring
Holy wisdom, love most bright .

Drawn by Thee, our souls aspiring
soar to uncreated light.

Word of God, our flesh that fashioned
With the fire of life impassioned.

Striving still to truth unknown
soaring, dying round Thy throne

The Rose

Some say love it is a river
That drowns the tender reed.
Some say love it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed.

Some say love it is a hunger
An endless, aching need
I say love it is a flower,
And you it's only seed.

It's the heart afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance
It's the dream afraid of waking
That never takes the chance

It's the one who won't be taken,
Who cannot seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying
That never learns to live.

And the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long.
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong.

Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snow
Lies the seed that with the sun's love,
In the Spring becomes the Rose
